Kathleen
Hayes has been at St. Bernard’s Catholic School for seventeen years. Her twin
daughters are alumni. Ms Hayes received her B.A. in 1989 and holds a
Professional Clear Multi-Subject Credential with a Supplementary Authorization
in English. She also holds a Teacher’s Aide Certificate as well as a CLAD
certificate that authorizes her to teach limited-English-proficient pupils. She
was nominated, in 2006, for the Wells Fargo Stagecoach Literacy Award for
excellence in teaching. Her extracurricular activities include chairing
fundraisers for tuition assistance and 8th grade trips, grading papers, painting
the facilities, bingo, preparing snacks for high school, organizing scrip
dollars for all of the Catholic churches and schools, monitoring the yards,
administering tests for incoming students, teaching art, providing resource for
Title I students, and organizing an extended day program. She has also
participated on several WASC teams for the elementary and high schools.
